Paper and Video Installation for "Afrofuturism"

The viewer first approaches a labyrinth on the floor and then enters a perforated black paper spiral. They walk to the center of the spiral to view the video. The labyrinth and spiral is meant to symbolize a meditative, purging journey. The video expresses the ideas below:

"Prophetics" must walk the Labyrinth of Removal, casting off all that is ghetto fabulous, bling bling, cadillacs, fried chicken and negro spirituals. The mission is to reclaim, by any means necessary, all spiritual, psychological and economic losses that were systematically decimated under the auspices of the christianization of slaves in the African diaspora.
